In just his 2nd race as a professional, Manteo Mitchell, ran a 10.10 in the 100m at the Beynon Sports Surfaces Catamount Classic at Western Carolina University. This is one of the fastest times posted in the country so far for the 2010 season!
The ironic thing about this is that Manteo in not known to be a 100m sprinter because in the past, he wasn't a fast starter. His best events are typically the 200 and 400m. However, with his new training regimen and the addition of canned oxygen to his pre-race routine, Manteo has been able to start more explosive than ever before... and his times are definitely reflecting it!
As the 2010 season progresses, track and field fans are anxiously waiting to see what Manteo can do in his stronger events! So far, that's 2 races and 2 victories for Manteo in 2010.
As always, Manteo gracefully thanks God for his talent and speed!
