In his first performance (outdoor season) as a post-collegiate and professional, Oxygen4energy.com sponsored athlete Manteo Mitchell, took home the gold finishing 1st place in the Men's 100m dash! The Shamrock Invitational, held in Conway, South Carolina saw its biggest crowd attendance since hosting the annual invitational track meet.
Mitchell's time of 10.43 was a personal record and as of now is a season best! "The race felt good. My start was on point and I felt like all the mechanics were there. I transitioned into my drive phase gently and just pressed on through!" In response to his finish, Mitchell stated "I didn't run as fast I can go and I know that! People asked after my race was I jogging and I laughed and jokingly said yes!"
Mitchell, often called by his nickname "GodSpeed" credited his recent success to God, his training, and a new enrichment to his life; OXYGEN from Oxygen4energy.com! "I always give God the credit for without him I would not be before you today! My training has been going well. The implementation of canned oxygen has made me notice significant improvements in my start! I'm not really known for my start but this week I had the best one in my 5 years of being in the sport of Track and Field!
Mitchell will again compete March 27th at the Beynon Sports Surface Catamount Classic held on the campus of Western Carolina University! Mitchell will compete in the 4x400m relay as well as the 100m dash! This will be familiar turf for Mitchell as this is where he ran under his college and current coach Danny Williamson. "It will be fun to show WCU and Catamount fans alike what I've been training hard for! A lot of people know that I am striving to make the Olympic and World Teams so they support me when and wherever they can! I still call Western home and I'll always be a Catamount!"
